Hi, I'm Amie
I'm 28, from the West Midlands, and I spend most of the year living abroad while working full time as a creative strategist.
My partner and I don't really do holidays. We pick somewhere, aim to live there for around three months, and keep normal working weeks. My days look pretty ordinary, I just get to choose where they happen: a run or Pilates in the morning, coffee, work, then swimming, exploring or a beach club once I log off, and a thriller before bed.
Under the spontaneous bit is a practical one. We renovated our house in Bournemouth ourselves, and I was mortgage-free at 25. Having a home base is what makes the freedom feel safe.
I studied psychology at the University of Nottingham, which turned out to be the perfect background for creative strategy: understanding what people want, what they're worried about, and what makes them trust something enough to buy.
What I want people to take from this page is simple: you don't have to choose between building a successful life and actually enjoying it. And you don't have to wait until retirement to start.
